This is a chance to get to know each other and establish a learning 'blueprint' for your chosen language. We'll discuss your WHY - the precise reasons you are looking for language tuition - and we'll get a sense of the level you are at now, so that we can benchmark the progress you will make.  We'll also begin to think about your SMART goals; what progress will feel like to you in what time frame, what your specific objectives are, and how to achieve all that!  The result? A  learning plan - not set in stone - but something to guide our way forward!

Individual or group-based (up to 6 participants), these lessons are graded to your ability. With scaffolded support that builds your conversational fluency whilst reinforcing relevant and useful vocabulary and language structures.

Russian is a fascinating language, but presents immediate challenges with its alphabet and vocabulary. Yet rising to this challenge can be fun,! You will learn the sounds of its common nouns and adjectives, appreciate the directness of its grammar (no verb to be in the present tense and no articles!) and find out about the imperfective and perfective aspects of its verbs.

With extensive knowledge and school-based experience of preparing students for GCSE exams, these sessions are aimed at supporting children of all abilities to achieve their best at assessment time.  The key focus here is practising the student's language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing, whilst building vocabulary, addressing gramatical misconceptions and extending students to produce the best work possible. Full support is also provided for students with Special Education Needs.

The A level specifications build on the foundations laid down at GCSE. The themes and topics are expanded, and the student is expected to understand and produce more complicated language, deduce meaning from a range of texts and audio, and discuss themes, story-telling and character development in a range of literary texts.

As a native English speaker with a qualification from TEFL.org, I provide conversation-based classes for any age and level, for business or leisure purposes.
